| Black Squirrels Come Back Late to Clip Bush Wackers | The Brisbane Bush Wackers went down to defeat to Jesus Ambriz and his Tree City teammates. The final score was 2-1 in favor of the Black Squirrels. Tree City reliever Jaime Tait was credited with the win, to go to 1-4. Willie Gomez took the loss for Brisbane. James Arnold notched his 22nd save in 22 chances.
Had Jose Curione not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Curione hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Black Squirrels.
"I like what I saw today," said Tree City manager Doug Bergeron, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
