| Kings Win at Houston, 7-5 | The Atlantic City Kings topped the Houston Sting, 7-5, in Donnie Moore League action at Woodland Park. The player of the game was Atlantic City first baseman Bill Hopkins. The Kings bumped their record to 40-27 with this latest triumph.
Hopkins had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 2-0 cutter from Harry Ayotte, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Kings a 7-5 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Hopkins.
"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Hopkins.
