| River Chiefs Turn Back San Angelo, 3-1 | The Chippewa River Chiefs topped the San Angelo Mustangs, 3-1, in Lyman Bostock League action at Heartland Kettlecorn Stadium. The player of the game was Chippewa pitcher Junior Castillo. Castillo got the win, improving to 7-4. He allowed 7 hits and walked 0 over 8 innings. Castillo allowed 1 earned run. Juan Bravo was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 3 of 4 save opportunities.
The River Chiefs got a big at-bat from third baseman Bobby Balik. For the game, Balik went 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the top of the first, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 8th double of the season gave Chippewa a 2-0 lead.
