The St. Petersburg Pelicans defeated the Brisbane Bush Wackers, 5-3, in Donnie Moore League action at Baylor Ballpark, with St. Petersburg pitcher Yukio Inouye named player of the game. A.J. Schneider was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 10 of 11 save opportunities.
Paul Brew Jr., who is rated as the 7th best prospect by BNN, aided the St. Petersburg cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh. For the game, the designated hitter went 1 for 3 with 2 walks.
"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Brew Jr. told the St. Petersburg Gazette. "But we take nothing for granted."
St. Petersburg is now 33-34, while Brisbane is 30-34.
