Earthquakes Stymie Bloomington, Take 7-1 Win

The San Francisco Earthquakes stymied the Bloomington Blazers, 7-1, at Golden Gate Park. Matthew Bauer, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for San Francisco. An-te-hai Xin earned the save for San Francisco, his 2nd. San Francisco is 27-27 and Bloomington, with the loss, 30-24.

With a runner on 2nd and two out in the bottom of the third inning, left fielder Jim Commo delivered big for the Earthquakes. San Francisco was leading 2-1 when he belted a 2-run home run.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Bauer told the San Francisco Bulletin.
