| Victory Over Lake Monsters Takes Kingwood to 44-20 | The Kingwood Knights went home winners at Stable Park, thanks in large part to starter Derrick Brown. Brown silenced the Okanagan Lake Monsters, enabling Kingwood to grab the 6-1 win. Brown, the winner, moves to 5-0. He threw 5.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up no walks. Kingwood is now 44-20, 6½ games up in the Lyman Bostock League Dick Williams Division.
The Knights got a big at-bat from first baseman Tokio Yamaguchi. For the game, Yamaguchi went 1 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Kingwood a 2-0 lead.
"This is a very good team," said Brown. "We have the chance to do something special."
