| Bush Wackers Edge Past Pelicans, 4-3 | St. Petersburg got a terrific performance from pitcher Juan Ayala, but it wasn't enough to beat the Brisbane Bush Wackers. Brisbane won the Baylor Ballpark contest, 4-3. Ayala was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 7 innings of shutout ball. Brisbane reliever Rob Saffioti picked up the win to move to 1-1. A.J. Schneider suffered the loss. The Bush Wackers now have a record of 30-33.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Brisbane first baseman Chris Pope, facing A.J. Schneider, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Bush Wackers the 4-3 win.
"This place sure got loud," said Atamas Manas, the Brisbane manager.
