| Hornets Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start | The Eureka Hornets racked up a win at Debris Field, bumping off the Kansas City Tornadoes, 3-2. Ernesto Guevara, who started for Eureka, pitched effectively for his team. In 7.2 innings, Guevara surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. Losses have been rare for the Tornadoes, who are now 4-1.
Juan González was 1 for 4 with a double for Eureka. The 26-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the fifth. With no one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Kunio Otsuka. It was his 2nd RBI of the season.
