| Sting Stay Hot, Beat Road Warriors | The Houston Sting bested the Westside Road Warriors by a score of 8-2, with right fielder Andy Robinson getting the main credit. On the day, Robinson went 2-2 with 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Sting. Houston reliever Israel Diaz was credited with the win, to go to 4-1. Manuel Visser took the loss for Westside. Dave Lopez, credited with the save, is now 1 for 2 in save opportunities.
Had Matt Hudson not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Hudson hit a 2-run double. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Sting.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Robinson.
Houston has now won 6 in a row.
