| Pelicans Subdue Atlantic City, 4-2 | The St. Petersburg Pelicans defeated the Atlantic City Kings, 4-2, at The Royal Colosseum today. Leading the charge for St. Petersburg was right fielder Miguel Munguia. He went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Mario Pagan got the win, improving to 6-4. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 6 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 1. A.J. Schneider converted his 9th save in 9 tries.
Munguia had a key at-bat for St. Petersburg early in the game. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and gave St. Petersburg an early 2-0 lead.
"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Munguia told the St. Petersburg Gazette. "Whatever it takes."
The Pelicans bumped their record to 32-31 with this latest triumph.
