| Vikings Subdue Winfield, 2-1 | The first-place Victoria Vikings welcomed Winfield to The drakkar.
Victoria beat Winfield at The drakkar, eking out a 2-1 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Bill Kunkel, who earned player of the game honors. Luis Madrid was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 4 save opportunities.
The Vikings got a big at-bat from left fielder Alex Alfredo. For the game, Alfredo was 2 for 4 with 2 singles. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 61st hit of the season gave Victoria a 2-1 lead.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Kunkel said after the game.
The Vikings have an impressive 39-24 record.
