Emeralds Continue Skid Thanks to Robinson, Sting

Getting a good performance from left fielder Andy Robinson, the Houston Sting defeated the Eugene Emeralds, 14-5. Robinson was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 3 for the Sting. Houston reliever Tony Gonzales picked up the win to move to 1-0. Jared Farnham suffered the loss. The 4th-place Sting now have a 4-game winning streak.

Matt Hudson hit a 2-run double off Jared Farnham in the top of the first, which put the Sting in front, 2-0. In addition to the double, Hudson had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Robinson told the Houston Gazette. "It's as simple as that."
