| Lake Monsters Turn Back Coney Island, 7-5 | The Okanagan Lake Monsters beat the Coney Island Cyclones, 7-5, at Elks Stadium. The Lake Monsters got a fine performance from right fielder Luis Parada, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2 for 3 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Okanagan reliever Conor Bruce picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Mike Backman took the loss. Jesús Velásquez earned the save, his 8th.
Byron Gill had a big 2-run double for the Lake Monsters in the bottom of the second inning. With Okanagan leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a slider from Mike Backman and stroked the double to right-center. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Lake Monsters ahead, 4-1.
Parada told a Okanagan Times reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
The Lake Monsters sit in third place in the Lyman Bostock League Dick Williams Division with a record of 32-27.
