| Saints Throttle Knights, 5-1 | John Bice never let the Knights get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his slider, to pitch the Saints to a 5-1 win. In 7.1 innings, Bice surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 7. He allowed 1 run. Even with the win, the Saints have a dismal 17-40 record.
In the bottom of the eighth, Cesar Gonzalez stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Knights were trailing 5-1, but had the bases loaded. That's when Lazaro Velez made a terrific pitch and Gonzalez popped out. Gone was the dream of a Kingwood comeback.
