| Pelicans Throttle Dancin' Outlaws, 6-1 | The St. Petersburg Pelicans got a stellar effort from pitcher Pedro Mendez, helping St. Petersburg score a 6-1 win over the visiting West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws. Brian Reddin converted his 1st save in 1 tries. St. Petersburg, at 27-29, sits in 5th place in the Donnie Moore League Dusty Baker Division.
The Pelicans got a big at-bat from right fielder Miguel Munguia. For the game, Munguia went 1 for 4 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 1st triple of the season gave St. Petersburg a 2-0 lead.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Mendez said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
