| Gnats Need Extras to Top Crosscutters | Nichols center fielder Chris Jones was instrumental in his team's 4-3 win over the Williamsport Crosscutters. Jones went 3-5 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Gnats. The second-place Gnats have won 4 straight.
The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Josue Escamilla came to bat in the bottom of the 11th. Facing Williamsport pitcher Sergio Rodas, he hit a 2-2 curveball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Nichols on top, 4-3.
Jones said afterward that he was "glad the fans were treated to a good ballgame."
