Chippewa River Chiefs starter Elijah Cooke was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the St. Petersburg Pelicans, 4-1. Paul Childers earned the save, his 13th. The River Chiefs bumped their record to 28-22 with this latest triumph.

The River Chiefs got a big at-bat from third baseman Bobby Balik. For the game, Balik went 2-4 with a double. In the top of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 3rd double of the season gave Chippewa a 2-1 lead.

"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Balik said after the game.
