Mustangs Roll Sting, 9-4

The San Angelo Mustangs defeated the Houston Sting, 9-4, in Lyman Bostock League action at Woodland Park, with San Angelo first baseman Cory Doucette named player of the game. With the win over Houston, the Mustangs improved to 23-29.

The Mustangs got a big at-bat from third baseman Kyle Lawrence. For the game, Lawrence was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the second, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave San Angelo a 3-0 lead.

"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Lawrence told the San Angelo Citizen. "Whatever it takes."
