Marauders Edge Earthquakes, 9-8

San Francisco third baseman Steve John was sensational. He went 2-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Maple beat the Earthquakes, 9-8. John was named the player of the game despite the loss. Maple is now 25-29, while San Francisco is 26-27.

The Marauders were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when left fielder Tommy Buford turned a 1-1 fastball from David Gilmour into a 3-run home run. The walk-off home run sent a roar through the crowd and gave Maple a thrilling 9-8 win.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Buford.
