| Vikings Prevail, 3-1, Over Coney Island | The Dublin Vikings beat the Coney Island Cyclones, 3-1, at Coney Island Coliseum. The win was largely due to the efforts of right fielder Franklin Gray, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk. Dublin reliever Mike Canada picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Jimmie Morton was saddled with the loss. The Vikings own a robust 31-18 mark.
Dublin used the bat of Dan Poapst to get the win. The designated hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Vikings ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Gray said after the game.
