| Mendoza Lifts Rockhounds to Win | Midland Rockhounds starter Andy Mendoza pitched a strong game against the Eureka Hornets at The Nest, leading the Rockhounds to a 5-1 win. Midland occupies 5th place in the Thurman Munson League Sparky Anderson Division at 22-30.
Mendoza earned the win to move to 3-7. In his 9-inning performance, he scattered 3 hits, striking out 6 and walking 2. The left-hander allowed the Hornets few scoring opportunities.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Mendoza.
