| Vikings Prevail, 1-0, Over Eugene | Fans who gathered at The drakkar saw a good contest between the Victoria Vikings and Eugene Emeralds.
Victoria right-hander Harold Lane was in fine form, shutting out the Eugene Emeralds, 1-0. The Vikings bumped their record to 31-18 with this latest triumph.
The Vikings got a big at-bat from center fielder David Hurtado. For the game, Hurtado was 3 for 3 with a double and 2 singles. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 2nd double of the season gave Victoria a 1-0 lead.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Hurtado, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
