| Kings Win at Charleston, 3-1 | In a well-pitched game between the Atlantic City Kings and the Charleston Panthers, pitcher Alejandro Sánchez was superb. The Atlantic City right-hander was named the player of the game in Atlantic City's 3-1 win. Naoyuki Kikuchi earned the save for Atlantic City, his 7th of the year. Atlantic City is now 31-15, 2 games up in the Donnie Moore League Dusty Baker Division.
Atlantic City used the timely hitting of David Fernandez to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Kings on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Sánchez, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
