| River Chiefs Bang Out 10-8 Win Versus Brisbane | Brisbane catcher Ramon Hernandez had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Hernandez went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once, even as Chippewa beat the Bush Wackers, 10-8. Hernandez was named the player of the game despite the loss. Elijah Cooke, credited with the win, is now 5-1. He allowed 6 runs on 10 hits in 5.1 innings. Paul Childers finished to wrap up his 11th save.
The River Chiefs got a big at-bat from right fielder Kyle Wakeman. For the game, Wakeman was 2 for 5 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 52nd hit of the season gave Chippewa a 2-1 lead.
"We came out aggressive," said River Chiefs manager Eric Rice. "We came out swinging the bats."
The River Chiefs bumped their record to 25-20 with this latest triumph.
