| Pioneers Edge Bombers, 5-4 | The Pioneers had to overcome a fine performance from South Carolina pitcher Ange Schmit to grab a 5-4 win at Bomber Ballpark. Schmit allowed 4 earned runs over 6.1 innings. Willard Stady, credited with the win, is now 3-2. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 3.1 innings. Nobutoshi Katayama was called on to finish, recording his 6th save.
Late-game drama came in the top of the tenth inning. With no one out and a runner on 1st, the batter, Dan Rollins, hit a single. It helped Vancouver seize the win.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Rollins said.
Vancouver goes to 19-34, South Carolina to 23-29.
