| Tight Tilt Goes to Black Squirrels, 3-2 | The Bethesda Hornets got a superb performance from pitcher Mark Doggett. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Tree City. The Black Squirrels won the game, 3-2. In spite of the loss, Doggett was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. Jesus Yanez got credit for the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed 2 runs on 7 hits in 5.2 innings. James Arnold finished to wrap up his 14th save.
Adrian Moylan, who is tied for 3rd in the DML in triples with 2, aided the Tree City cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the center fielder went 2-4 with a double.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Tree City manager Doug Bergeron.
At 20-23, Tree City is in third place in the Donnie Moore League Tommy Lasorda Division.
