| Cooke Lays Hammer Down in 4-3 Win | Chippewa pitcher Elijah Cooke did his part in helping his team beat the Coney Island Cyclones, 4-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Paul Childers picked up the save, his 10th. The River Chiefs bumped their record to 23-17 with this latest triumph.
Cooke, the Chippewa left-hander, went 8.1 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 5 hits. He collected 10 strikeouts.
"We found a way to get it done," Cooke said.
