| Mathews Helps Westside Outscore Houston | The Westside Road Warriors dealt the Houston Sting a 19-13 loss at Road Warriors Field. Alexander Mathews was the star on offense. He was 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 5 times and driving in 5. At 20-21, the Road Warriors find themselves in second place in the Donnie Moore League Tommy Lasorda Division.
Mathews had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 2-2 fastball from Jason Gurwitz, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Road Warriors a 15-13 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Mathews.
Houston manager Ramu Pavi said he was disappointed with the loss. "Whenever you score that many runs, you expect to win the game."
