| Gnats Score Late, Upend Warriors, 10-6 | It was a fun time at The Pond, where the Winfield Warriors and Nichols Gnats tangled.
The Nichols Gnats topped the Winfield Warriors by the score of 10-6, with the biggest share of the credit going to center fielder Alberto Jorge. Jorge was 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Gnats on the day. Nichols, at 20-17, sits in third place in the Lyman Bostock League Earl Weaver Division.
Jorge had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 1-2 curveball from Brian Claphan, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Gnats a 9-6 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Jorge.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Jorge.
