Takao Koyama pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Tree City Black Squirrels, despite Koyama's fine outing, dropped a 2-1 decision to the Houston Sting at Woodland Park. Houston has now won 5 in a row.
The Sting got a big at-bat from center fielder Cullen Bohannon. For the game, Bohannon went 2 for 3 with a triple. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run single. His 13th hit of the season gave Houston a 2-0 lead.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Doug Bergeron.
