| Lake Monsters Come Up Short at Chippewa | The Chippewa River Chiefs defeated the Okanagan Lake Monsters, 3-2, in Lyman Bostock League action at The Reservation, with Chippewa pitcher Vicente Zavala named player of the game. The River Chiefs bumped their record to 20-17 with this latest triumph.
Had Kyle Wakeman not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Wakeman hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the River Chiefs.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Wakeman.
