| Warriors Turn Back Williamsport, 5-3 | Winfield pinch hitter Rob Lucas made his presence felt in the 5-3 Warriors triumph over the Williamsport Crosscutters. Lucas was 1 for 1 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Winfield reliever Chris Wilson picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Steve Osborne absorbed the loss. Brian Claphan finished the game for Winfield and earned his 9th save.
Lucas had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a full count fastball from Steve Osborne, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Warriors a 4-3 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Lucas.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Lucas said.
Winfield is now 15-19.
