| Victory Pushes River Chiefs Record to 19-16 | The Chippewa River Chiefs got a stellar performance from pitcher Elijah Cooke, who handcuffed the Charleston offense en route to a 5-1 win at The Reservation. Paul Childers finished the game for Chippewa and earned his 7th save. The River Chiefs bumped their record to 19-16 with this latest triumph.
The River Chiefs got a big at-bat from catcher Juan Alvardo. For the game, Alvardo was 1 for 4. In the bottom of the seventh, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 14th hit of the season gave Chippewa a 2-1 lead.
Alvardo attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
