| Mustangs Clip Jedi Knights in Tight Contest | The New Orleans Jedi Knights got a sterling performance from pitcher Alec Lamb, but the Mustangs still prevailed, 6-5. Lamb was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 5 innings of 4-hit ball. The winner was Eric Watson, who threw 115 pitches over 7 innings. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs on 9 hits. Casey Violet earned save number 1.
Had Pat Overbey not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 1st, Overbey hit a 2-run home run. That made the score 6-4, in favor of the Mustangs.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said San Angelo manager Cliff Moon.
With the win, the Mustangs have a record of 13-23.
