| 5 Straight Wins for Black Squirrels | The Tree City Black Squirrels knocked off the Westside Road Warriors, 6-3, at The Nut House. Jose Curione, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Tree City won. The first baseman was 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Tree City reliever Bruce Cunningham got the win, raising his record to 5-1. Scott Horton was tagged with the loss. Westside now has a 6-game losing streak.
Joel Vargas drove in one run for Tree City. The 24-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Scott Horton. It was his 6th RBI of the season.
"We did a lot of things right," said Curione.
