| River Chiefs Lose, 7-4, at Saints Ballpark | The St. Paul Saints knocked off the Chippewa River Chiefs, 7-4, at Saints Ballpark. Mike Medina, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason St. Paul won. The center fielder went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Jack Nodell got credit for the save for St. Paul. It was his 1st of the year. The Saints have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 6th win in 30 games.
Medina contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for St. Paul in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 4-3, Medina took a sinker from Kevin Miller and stroked the home run to center. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Saints to leap in front, 6-4.
"We played hard and won," said Medina. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
