| Emeralds Lose, 4-2, at Hornets Field | Fans who gathered at Hornets Field saw a good contest between the Bethesda Hornets and Eugene Emeralds.
The Bethesda Hornets defeated the Eugene Emeralds, 4-2, at Hornets Field today. Leading the charge for Bethesda was designated hitter Douglas Dannattet. He belted 2 home runs. Victor Mercado got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 2 innings. Tadakatsu Murayama earned the save, his 1st.
The Hornets got a big at-bat from left fielder Ryoji Nakai. For the game, Nakai was 1 for 5. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 27th hit of the season gave Bethesda a 3-2 lead.
"We'll build on this win," said Dannattet.
