| Mustangs Stymie Kansas City, Take 1-0 Win | McNichols Stadium was the site of a competitive game between the Kansas City Tornadoes and Mile High Mustangs.
The Mile High Mustangs picked up a win at McNichols Stadium, knocking off the Kansas City Tornadoes, 1-0. Starting pitcher Scott Ray, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Ray, now 4-5, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing no earned runs. Amirtharaj Nagaraja finished the game for Mile High and earned his 3rd save.
Bill Kremer went 1-3 with a double for Mile High. The 28-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With no one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off J.G. Richard. It was his 7th RBI of the season.
"Scott did a tremendous job," said Mile High manager Kinnojo Shirai.
Mile High is in 5th place in the Thurman Munson League Sparky Anderson Division with a record of 23-31.
