| Kimura Delivers Walk-Off Win for Pelicans | The St. Petersburg Pelicans did just enough to secure a 5-4 victory over the West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws at Billy Mathews Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Mario Pagan, who captured player of the game honors. St. Petersburg reliever Andy Gabbard picked up the win to move to 3-2. Mike Crawford suffered the loss. The defending champion Pelicans have struggled a bit to find their groove this season, but improve to 16-16 with the win.
The Pelicans got a big at-bat from center fielder Shoshi Kimura. For the game, Kimura was 2-2 with 2 singles. In the bottom of the 11th, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 6th hit of the season gave St. Petersburg a 5-4 lead.
"It's great when the crowd gets into it," Kimura said.
