| Emeralds Win at Bethesda, 6-4 | The Eugene Emeralds got a rain-soaked win over the Bethesda Hornets at Hornets Field.
The Eugene Emeralds knocked off the Bethesda Hornets, 6-4, at Hornets Field. Jared Carpenter, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Eugene won. The right fielder went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Eugene reliever Pablo Baca picked up the win, bumping his record to 3-0. Jesus Siguenza was collared with the loss. Jesse Lay was credited with the save for Eugene, his 2nd of the season.
Steve Sexton, who is tied for 7th in the DML in doubles with 8, chipped in for Eugene with a 2-run home run in the top of the third. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Carpenter said.
The Hornets drop to 12-19 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2038 season.
