Crosscutters Turn Back Brisbane, 4-2

The Williamsport Crosscutters got a strong performance from pitcher Francisco Valenzuela, who stymied the Brisbane offense en route to a 4-2 win at Crosscutters Park. The Crosscutters are off to a tough start, getting just their 11th win in 30 games.

The Crosscutters got a big at-bat from shortstop Jeff Schwartz. For the game, Schwartz went 1-3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Williamsport a 3-0 lead.

"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Schwartz told the Williamsport Today. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
