| Panthers Shut Out Road Warriors | The Charleston Panthers defeated the Westside Road Warriors, 4-0, in Lyman Bostock League action at Franklin Mountains Field, with Charleston pitcher Danny Medina named player of the game. With the loss, Westside is 16-12.
Omar Veliz, who is tied for 2nd in the LBL with a .438 on-base percentage, aided the Charleston cause with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the first baseman was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Veliz told the Charleston Chronicle. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
