| Rowley Goes Wild, But Pelicans Win | The New Orleans Jedi Knights got a sterling performance from first baseman Nick Rowley, but the Pelicans still prevailed, 10-9. Rowley was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He hit 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. St. Petersburg reliever Barend van Veen picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Dane Palmer was collared with the loss. Marlon Douglas locked down his 7th save.
The Pelicans got a big at-bat from third baseman Jorge Navarro. For the game, Navarro went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave St. Petersburg a 10-9 lead.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said St. Petersburg manager Dennis Inman.
The Jedi Knights fall to 12-12 and continue their uneasy start to the 2038 season.
