Pelicans Bang Out 7-3 Win Versus New Orleans

Benefiting from David Tapia's productive game, the St. Petersburg Pelicans downed the New Orleans Jedi Knights, 7-3. Tapia went 3 for 5 with a home run, a triple, and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Pelicans. The defending champion Pelicans have struggled a bit to find their groove this season, but improve to 12-13 with the win.

Branden Baish aided the St. Petersburg cause with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the second. For the game, the second baseman was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once.

"If we keep hitting the ball well, the wins will pile up," said St. Petersburg skipper Dennis Inman.
