| Sting Best Dancin' Outlaws in Pitching Duel | The Sting had to overcome a good performance from West Virginia pitcher Jose Aguilera to claim a 2-1 win at Penlee Park. Aguilera went 9 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Houston reliever Jim Riggs was the winner. His record is now 4-0. Jose Aguilera took the loss. The Dancin' Outlaws fall to 11-14 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2038 season.
It could have been a different outcome for Houston, had it not been for Lupe Vazquez, the 22-year old left fielder . Vazquez contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fifth inning to put Houston up, 2-1.
Vazquez called the triumph "a good team win."
