Sting Topple Dancin' Outlaws with Late Rally

The Houston Sting faced a tough opponent in West Virginia pitcher Andy Salas, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Penlee Park by a final score of 7-5. Salas went 7 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Houston is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 8th in 23 games.

Houston used the clutch hitting of Juan Lira to capture the win. The shortstop drilled a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Sting the lead, 4-3. For the game, Lira had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Lira told the Houston Gazette.
