| Sting Nip Orphans, 2-1 | The Cambridge Orphans got a superb performance from pitcher Graeme Charge, but the Houston Sting still won the game, 2-1. Charge was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 5 innings of 2-hit ball. Houston reliever Jim Riggs was credited with the win, to go to 3-0. Graeme Charge took the loss for Cambridge. The Sting, with just their 7th win so far in 2038, have yet to catch fire.
Chris Ignatov aided the Houston cause with a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth. For the game, the second baseman was 2 for 4 with a double.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Ignatov told the Houston Gazette.
