| Cyclones Trip Warriors in Extras | The Coney Island Cyclones walked off with a big win today at Coney Island Coliseum.
Peter Wright was instrumental in his team's 3-2 triumph over the Winfield Warriors. The center fielder went 3-6 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Coney Island Cyclones. The win was credited to David Alvarez in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Brian Claphan took the loss.
Wright had a game-changing single in the bottom of the 11th. On a 1-1 fastball from Chris Wilson, he banged a run-scoring single to left, giving the Cyclones a 3-2 lead. It was the 20th hit of the year for Wright.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Winfield skipper Johnny Vallance, "and it cost us."
The Warriors fall to 9-9 and continue their uneasy start to the 2038 season.
