| Orphans Bang Out 8-1 Win Versus Houston | Cambridge starter Tristan Soreni put a stranglehold on the Houston offense. The left-hander had complete command of his slider in leading the Orphans to a 8-1 win. The winning pitcher was Soreni, now 1-2. He tossed 5 innings of 1-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 7. Matt Gordon earned save number 1.
Rich Velasquez, who is tied for 4th in the DML in triples with 1, aided the Cambridge cause with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, the second baseman went 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Cambridge manager Fernando Padilla.
Despite the win, Cambridge, now 6-14, is off to a terrible start.
