| Vikings Fall to .500 After Loss to Black Squirrels | Tree City Black Squirrels starter Javy Cabrera turned in a sterling performance against the Dublin Vikings, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. Tree City reliever Eric Haft picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Manny Becerra absorbed the loss. The Vikings drop to 10-10 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2038 season.
The Black Squirrels got a big at-bat from designated hitter John Begley. For the game, Begley was 1 for 3. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 1st hit of the season gave Tree City a 3-2 lead.
"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Begley told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
